There’s been a quiet revolution in the world of work. It’s the mobile workforce, or telecommuting, and it’s growing. By the end of 2015. the number of men and women working from home on their own devices reached 1.3 billion globally or 37.2% of the total workforce.
However, companies that allow employee owned smartphones or tablets to access company networks for work purposes are encountering major security issues. These include, network security breaches due to lost or stolen devices, loss of company or customer data, employee misuse, and mobile malware.
Our guest today is Jim Fitt, CEO of Velsoft, an online training and education solutions company he started from his New Glasgow home in the early 1990s. Today, he has more than 10,000 customers in 164 countries. He joins us to discuss the opportunities of telecommuting, the possibilities it offers the boomers group, and addressing the security concerns of the movement.
