Encore: Could Changing Military Policies Affect Halifax’s Shipbuilding?

April 6, 2016

Check out the latest episode of Encore by Boomerswork.com on 105.9 Seaside FM hosted by Costas Halavrezos!

Canada’s military is about to go under the microscope. Defence Minister Harjit Sajjan wants to complete a thorough defence policy review by the end of this year.

The review is expected to create a road map for our Department of National Defence for the next 10 to 20 years. Two leading defence analysts at the Canadian Global Affairs Institute have already chimed in, urging two things; more realistic procurement plans and fewer military personnel.

For a closer assessment of what such a review should entail, and how it could affect the multi-billion dollar shipbuilding program in our own backyard, we’re joined by Prof. Ken Hansen, resident research fellow at the Centre for Foreign Policy Studies at Dalhousie University.

Enjoy the show and join us next week for a brand new episode!
