Canadian cities deal with their fair share of harsh climates, but are they prepared for what a changing climate has in store? A recent study from the Insurance Bureau of Canada says that Canadian cities that are unable to adapt to a changing climate could be hit by harsh financial burdens. It is estimated that by 2040, annual losses in Halifax due to storm damage could reach $18 million. Shannon Miedema, Acting Manager for Energy and Environment for HRM joins Costas to discuss why Halifax is at risk and what the city can do to prepare for the changes in our climate.
