Where does your search start?

You know which seat needs filling. Finance, operations, marketing, technology, people and culture, and more:
Needs:
You know the situation but not necessarily the title that resolves it. A departure to cover, a project without an owner, growth outpacing the team:
Not sure what shape your needs take?
Our Engagement Definer tool asks five key questions about your challenge or opportunity, guiding you through a decision-making process to help identify the right engagement style for your situation.
How fractional, interim and contract engagements work:
Fractional: Ongoing senior leadership role, part-time (e.g., 1-2 days/week). They own a function on your team: Finance Director, HR Manager, IT Lead. Embedded in your organization, accountable for results in their area, for organizations that need the expertise but not the salary.
Contract: Defined engagement to deliver specific work or fill a role temporarily. Could be project-based (3 months to overhaul your HR policies) or time-bound coverage (6 months while you search for a permanent hire). Clear scope, clear end date.
Interim: Temporary full-time (or near full-time) leadership to fill a gap urgently. Usually happens during transitions: your CFO quit, you’re restructuring, you’re in a crisis. They step in, stabilize things, then step out.
Project-Based: Hired to complete a specific project with clear deliverables. Build a new financial reporting system. Launch a digital fundraising campaign. Lead your CRM implementation. When the work is done, so is the engagement.
Common questions:
How do I know whether I need fractional, interim, or contract help?
Fractional professionals work part-time on an ongoing basis, filling a role the organization doesn't need covered full-time. Interim professionals step in full-time to cover a specific gap, such as a departure or a leave. Contract and project-based engagements are scoped to a defined body of work or timeline, regardless of whether the hours are full or part-time.
Companies use all four models depending on the nature of the gap, the urgency, and whether the need is ongoing or bounded.
How quickly can an experienced professional be brought on board?
SeasonedPros places experienced professionals considerably faster than a full-time search, which can run three to six months from brief to start date. A fractional, interim, or contract professional can typically be engaged within weeks.
Does SeasonedPros only place senior executives, or can they fill functional roles further down the org chart?
SeasonedPros places experienced professionals across functions and levels, not only at the executive tier. An organization might engage a fractional CFO and a contract project manager through the same platform, or bring in an experienced HR professional to build out recruiting processes without needing a VP-level hire. The common thread is experience: every professional in the network has a track record of performing in relevant environments.
Which functions do companies most commonly hire on a fractional or contract basis?
Finance is the most common, particularly at the CFO or senior finance manager level. Operations, sales management, HR, project management, and marketing are all regularly engaged on a fractional or contract basis. The pattern is consistent: functions where the company needs experienced judgment and hands-on capability, but where the volume of work or the stage of the company doesn't justify a permanent full-time hire.
