The legalization of recreational marijuana has received a good deal of attention since it was announced, but a good deal of Canadians are more focused on the medicinal use of the drug. Using marijuana to treat pain and other ailments is not a new idea, but with access to it becoming much easier, many people are becoming more curious as to what it might offer to their conditions– especially within the boomer community. How effective is it as a pain relief method? What methods can I use for taking the drug? What are the side effects? These are just some of the questions Canadians have about medical marijuana use and Dr. David Lussier has the answers. Dr. Lussier specializes in research of chronic pain at the Geriatric Institute of the University of Montreal. He joins us for an in depth look at the many questions surrounding marijuana for medical use, and the possible benefits it was for the aging mind.
