Dr. McNiven is a former professor of Public Administration at Dalhousie University, as well as former deputy minister of development for Nova Scotia, and president of Atlantic Provinces Economic Council from 1977 to 1981. After retiring in 2006, Dr. McNiven turned to writing and is the author of The Yankee Road: Tracing the Journey of the New England Tribe that Created Modern America. Dr. McNiven joins Costas to discuss his “mandatory retirement” and his highly accomplished post-retirement career. He gives his insights on how the newly retired can get the most out of their time and stresses the importance of keeping busy.
