4 Pricing Models for On-Demand Talent

The concept of on-demand talent platforms or marketplaces is still relatively new and hasn’t yet reached the mainstream. However, that time is fast approaching. Organizations need to determine the right mix between full-time traditional roles and a contingent workforce. Call it “fractional”, “gig”, “interim”, “project”, or “contract” work – there are many ways to leverage a contingent workforce.

Single Search Flat Rate Fee

This solution is ideal when a client needs a seasoned pro to fill a fractional (part-time), interim (typically 6-8 months), or project role. If there’s a talent gap on the team that needs to be filled quickly, we charge a flat rate fee once the client hires a candidate. Most clients use this service model to try our on-demand approach.

Prepaid Search Buckets

As the name suggests, this model allows clients to purchase multiple searches in advance at a discounted rate. This approach helps in workforce planning, enabling clients to forecast when and where they will need seasoned pros based on upcoming project needs.

Short-Term Project Pricing Model

This is our newest pricing model, developed in response to clients who needed specific expertise for short-term engagements (1-3 months) but found our flat rate search fee prohibitive for such short durations. This service is priced on a monthly basis, allowing clients to access the expertise they need quickly and cost-effectively.

Talent as a Service (TaaS)

This is a monthly subscription service for the talent you need. Just as we’ve all become familiar with Software as a Service (SaaS) offerings like Netflix, Office, LinkedIn, and Canva, TaaS provides access to seasoned pros when you need them. Depending on the plan, you can access a certain number of pros each month through a subscription. TaaS represents the future of on-demand talent, helping organizations effectively balance traditional full-time roles with a contingent workforce. While it’s still early days for this model, some of our clients are beginning to understand how to leverage it. We believe 2025 will be the year this model gains significant traction in the marketplace.
